You have to smack your head listening to Schumer, Weiner, Pelosi, Reid wailing like crybabies that the spending cuts proposed by the Republicans are too harsh. Perhaps it’s time to shut the government down and like a parent at wits end, send the babies home for a timeout.

The draconian budget cuts of $61 billion passed by the House and rejected by the Senate amount to just 3.8% of the current year’s deficit. That is the deficit, you know, the shortfall between what the government takes in and what it spends; not the debt, not the budget, just 3.8% of the deficit. Which, of course, means that Congress will still be able to overspend what it takes in by $1.5 trillion rather than $1.6 trillion. Yes, I am rounding off as I keep losing track of that many zeroes.

It is not just in Washington, where we have this problem but in the states as well, as the alarming video below shows, and yet, efforts in Wisconsin to rein in the spending was greeted by the left with yowls of indentured servitude (that is, lifetime employment with a six figure income), comparisons to Hitler who they claimed abolished the unions (he didn’t, he just replaced the existing unions with new ones), while issuing death threats, and damaging the Wisconsin capital to the tune of $7 – $8 million, which will have to be paid for to repair. I guess they glossed over that pesky word in the First Amendment about the right to “peaceably” assemble.

If we don’t stop bingeing at the government trough soon, there will be hell to pay, with no one to pay it. See how long Michael Moore sticks around when he is the last rich guy to tax. Hello, Havana!

When the unions and their progressive supporters hit the streets in Madison, Wisconsin the news cameras didn’t have to look high and low to find the Hitler posters, they could probably spot them from a hundred yards off, but honestly, who didn’t think there would be Hitler posters at a left wing rally? But in a effort to modernize, somebody found a newspaper and saw there was some unrest in the Middle East and voila, we had comparisons to Hosni Mubarak and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. So Governor Scott Walker, we are to believe, is acting like a dictator not a democratically elected governor working through a democratically elected legislature? Hmmm, I wonder how the public sector unions got the “rights” they ferociously cling to?

Wagner and Kennedy

In 1958, New York City mayor Robert F. Wagner was running for reelection. He had a little problem, though, and that was the fact that all five Democratic county leaders were opposed to him. Not only did that make getting reelected an uphill fight, he realized that he might not even be the nominee of the Democrat party. He needed a bold stroke of political genius. He found his stroke with the point of a pen. He penned an executive order giving public sector employees the ability to unionize. Were the public sector employees in some sort of danger that they needed additional protections? No. They were already protected under civil service provisions. This was purely a political power play designed for the sole purpose of getting Mayor Wagner reelected against the wishes of the leaders of his own party. Sounds a little bit dictatorial, no? One man creates the first public sector unions for the purpose of getting himself reelected. Let the public be damned with the long term consequences. He would be long retired before that piper had to be paid.

President John F. Kennedy won the presidency by the slimmest of margins. Some have reasonably argued that voting shenanigans in Chicago threw the election his way. President Kennedy saw how well things were going for the Democrats in New York after Wagner’s executive order. He also didn’t want to face another tough election. What could he do to put a thumb on the scale? In 1962, President Kennedy picked up his pen and wrote Executive Order 10988, that gave federal workers the right to organize. Again, no public outcry that public sector unions were needed, no act of Congress; one man, exercising executive power, dramatically changed the direction of public worker compensation that we are now buried under. Sounds somewhat dictatorial, no?

In Wisconsin, Governor Scott Walker is trying to use the democratic legislative process to pass a law, changing the scope of the collective bargaining abilities, not eliminating them, and somehow that earns him the comparisons to Middle East dictators. What does that tell you about the intellectual honesty of the left? Likes the states, it’s bankrupt.

The Unspoken Truth

The unions in Wisconsin have said they agree to the health care contributions that the governor has demanded, they have agreed to the retirement contributions that the governor has demanded, so it is not about the money it is about breaking the unions. I wish that Governor Walker would come clean and explain exactly what the goals are.

Without the changes in collective bargaining, sure the unions will give in now, but they will still have all their political power. Meaning that in the next election, they can once again come out in force to elect their future bosses and then negotiate to restore everything they gave up. It is not only about the money today, it is about the money in the future as well. As long as unions can take money from their members, use it to elect politicians who will give away the store to them as payback, any concessions today are only a short term fix. Governor Walker is trying to effect a permanent fix. He wants to bend the cost curve downward so that Wisconsin can attract businesses to the state and jobs. With jobs and a growing economy the states fiscal health will be restored. With the changes in collective bargaining, compensation in the public sector will not continue to outgrow private sector compensation that pays the salaries and benefits of the public sector. Is that fair? Ask a taxpayer and then ask a union member.

Right to Work

If the place of unions is so glorious in the tradition and success of the American economy, why are unions so desperately afraid of Right to Work laws? Why do unions need the coercive power of the state to force people to join unions in some states? Sounds more like Iran than America, no?

When I was in college I took a summer job with UPS. UPS was a union shop, which means they can hire union or non-union workers but after a set period of time the non-union workers have to join the union or lose their jobs. In the period that I was there, I and the guy I was teamed with developed a reputation as hard workers. Whenever a tractor trailer came in with just a few minutes left before the transfer point closed for the night, we were typically asked to be the ones to unload it because we could to it faster than anyone else. My work performance got me a raise in the short time I was there. But after about two months the foreman came to me and said it was time to join the union. Again, this was a summer job that I would be leaving to go back to college regardless. But there was no give. Rather than join, I quit, and finished out my summer at another job that appreciated a hard worker.

Where Right to Work laws are in play, an individual cannot be forced to join a union. If unions are the mother’s milk that the left claims they are why does the left oppose Right to Work laws? Why should an individual be forced to join a union as a condition of their employment? If unions are so wonderful, why is union membership in the private sector plummeting? What happened to our steel industry? Our ship building industry? Our auto industry? Tell me again where the dictators are and where the democracy lies.

It seemed an unlikely place. But then so was Gettysburg. If you asked anyone at about the time the Tea Party started if Wisconsin would be a major battleground, I don’t think they would have agreed. But in the last few days, a new Republican governor has taken on the public unions and they have fought back with a vengeance. It is a battle they can little afford to lose.

Wisconsin is facing a budget shortfall this year of $137 million for the current fiscal year and $3.6 billion for next year. Like many states around the country, and the federal government too, there is no time for small steps. The governor wants the public sector unions to pay more for their retirement and medical care and he also wants to end collective bargaining on anything but wages, and those to be increased no more than the Consumer Price Index. In return there will be no layoffs. The battle lines were drawn.

Let’s be Civil

After Tucson, the main stream media and Democrats were all over the airwaves admonishing us (conservatives) to be civil. My Congressman came to my daughter’s high school to give a ten minute lecture on civility and how we have to be nicer to politicians who are trying to do their job. This is the same Congressman who ran for reelection primarily by calling his opponent a liar, and running from his own record. Very civil.

There were the numerous references to Hitler (just what is it with the left’s Hitler fetish anyway?). Posters with the Hitler moustache painted on Governor Walker, a picture of the governor with crosshairs drawn over his face. So much for the outrage after the Gabrielle Giffords shooting.

Fakin’ It

Many teachers called in “sick” so that they could abandon their students and classrooms to protest in Madison against the governor’s proposals. Since everyone knows that virtually all of these sudden “illnesses” are bogus, some teachers started to worry about covering their tracks. Not to worry though, doctors or doctor impersonators were on the scene to hand out fake sick notes. No mention of any illness or disease is necessary. They were handing them out like candy on Halloween.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjFbMDp5Pg8

The doctors or doctor impersonators should be tracked down and charged with fraud. If they are doctors, they should lose their license. If they are not doctors they should be charged with practicing medicine without a license.

A couple of relevant tweets illustrate the differences between the union organized protestors and the Tea Party. From a union supporter, “Tea Partiers protest on the weekends – which were won for them by unions.” The claim about weekends being won by unions is dubious, but even the union supporters acknowledge that the Tea Partiers don’t steal their pay from their employers by calling in sick, they wait until they are on their own time. I can’t say if the union supporter is mocking the Tea Partiers for being ethical or not. From a Tea Party supporter, “Gov. Walker, sorry we’re late, we work full time.”

Organizing for America

According to our federal form of government the states and the federal government are both sovereign entities, meaning one is not subordinate to the other. Instead of focusing on getting the federal budget in order, President Obama is taking time to weigh in on Wisconsin. Not only that, but there is an organization called Organizing for America that is actively involved.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkc-diFmcb8

This political arm is encouraging teachers to violate their contract. So let’s take a step back. The unions are outraged that the governor wants to curtail their collective bargaining rights. The unions negotiate a contract with the government and then violate it with impunity when it suits their ends. The unions want to hold the state accountable but they don’t want to be accountable.

Dereliction of Duty

To help their union supporters, all of the Democrat Wisconsin State Senators fled the state to prevent their being a quorum to vote on the measure curtailing union power. These senators took an oath to do their job and they are hiding out in Illinois. The far left web site Daily Kos is actively raising money to help these senators violate their oath. This is an excerpt from an e-mail sent to their supporters:

Even though you don’t live in Wisconsin, there’s a way you can help. The 14 Democratic state Senators who kept the fight alive are on Act Blue, and we’ve put their party committee on our Orange to Blue 2012 page.

Please, contribute $14 to the Wisconsin State Senate Democratic committee, $1 for each of the heroic Senators.

Republicans hold a 19-14 edge in the Wisconsin state Senate, but 20 Senators are needed for a quorum. So, in response to a Republican attempt to pass a bill making public sector unions virtually illegal, all 14 Democrats simply left the state. If even one of these Democrats had remained in Wisconsin, then s/he would have been rounded up by the police, forcibly brought to the state Capitol, and the bill would have passed. At great personal and electoral risk, these 14 Democrats are protecting workers’ rights and making resistance to the Tea Party the top news story in the country.

When the Democrats held the House, Senate and White House and rammed through ObamaCare despite polling showing the American people were opposed, did the Republican members of Congress flee to Canada? No. They fought at the ballot box to elect Scott Brown in Massachusetts. They fought in the Senate using Senate rules like the filibuster. They lost the battle and ObamaCare passed, but they stayed and did their duty representing their constitutents.

They fought at the ballot box again winning big in November 2010. Among those wins was both houses of the state government in Wisconsin and the governor. Now, with the tables turned, the left shows their true colors. Instead of fighting within the system, they lie, violate contracts, cheat with fraudulent sick notes, they abandon their responsibilities to hide out in another state, while still claiming to hold their office. This is the left’s vision of America, and all the while holding signs equating the legitimate government to Hitler, Mubarak, Cairo, Bahrain, etc. It pretty much speaks for itself.

If the senators do not go back to the state house to do their jobs, then the only alternative to balance the budget may be to fire about 5,000 state workers.

Public Sector Unions

The issue with public sector unions is collusion. Unions collect dues from their members. Their members, like the general public come from all parts of the political spectrum: Democrats, Republicans, Independents and even people not registered to vote or who don’t vote. Parts of those union dues are steered toward political activism which in short means electing as many Democrats as possible. The amount of money raised and spent is staggering. The Democrats that get elected are then in a position to negotiate contracts with those same unions and reward them for their support. As long as those Democrats are out of office before the bill comes due, they are happy to oblige.

What is happening in Wisconsin is ending that collusion. An alternative would be that public sector unions are not allowed to collect any dues for political purposes or participate in any political activity. In the private sector, unions don’t appoint the management that they eventually negotiate with for their contracts, why should it be different in the public sector? In the private sector if a company negotiates a lousy contract with the unions and it bankrupts them, they go out of business. In the public sector, if the government, generously helped into office by the unions, negotiates a lousy contract with the unions, the government doesn’t suffer, the taxpayers are stuck with the bill.

In Wisconsin those taxpayers said, “enough,” and turned out the Democrats and elected the Republicans to fix the problem. The Republicans are trying to do what they were elected to do.

The corrupt main stream media, the unions, and President Barack Obama are fighting their Waterloo. The voters have had enough of bloated out of control government. The private sector struggles with unemployment and a stagnant economy, while the public sector grows and out earns them while they have to pay for it. The union thugs take to the streets, shut down schools, take students out of the classroom to protest with their union teachers, while Democrat lawmakers flee the state instead of doing their job. Is this Greece? No, it is Madison, Wisconsin.

Let’s start with the mainstream media. A tragedy occurs in Tucson, Arizona and somehow it is harsh rhetoric on the part of the right that caused it. That was a lie. They knew it. They didn’t care. Many of those stations have a broadcast license from the government and the don’t blanche at lying with impunity. A left wing rally protests outside of a private conservative meeting and out of a crowd of about a thousand, twenty-five are arrested. In Madison, Wisconsin, more arrests are made. Signs portraying the governor as Hitler, a sign with a cross hairs on the governors face, protesters gathering at the private home of the governor and legislators and where is the outrage on the main stream media? You can hear a pin drop.

The unions got together with the Democrats to kick the protests into high gear.

Organizing for America, which is run in conjunction with the Democratic National Committee, was helping mobilize protesters on Thursday through its blog and Twitter updates that included a “call to action” to phone state senators.

This is the crux of the problem. Public sector unions are in a symbiotic relationship with the Democratic party. They take union dues from Democrats, Republicans, Independents and even unregistered voters and use part of that money to elect Democrats. Those elected officials will then negotiate public sector contracts with the unions giving away the store. The officials only have to make sure that they are no longer in office when the bill comes due. By then they will be retired in Florida with their own fat pension and living in a state with no income tax.

President Obama, who can’t get his own budgetary house in order, weighs in on another non-federal matter. In the past he has injected himself in a local police matter in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It’s time the president started focusing on being the president and instead of worrying how Wisconsin is dealing with their budget mess, to clean up his own.

The same teachers who tell us time and again in their paid advertisements that it is all about the children, wasted no time abandoning those children, forcing some schools to close, by lying to their school districts by calling in sick, so they could go to the state capital and protest. Some of them went even further and brought their students with them to use as pawns for their own greed. This clip shows some of these students and they have no idea why they are there and what they are protesting for. It is just a day out of the classroom.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cufj2d8Co5A

The unions offer no solutions for closing a $3 billion budget gap other than the same tired bromide to go find that rich guy somewhere who isn’t being taxed enough, and make him pay for their union’s greed. Everyone else can struggle, everyone else can pay for the public employees, but don’t touch what the public sector unions have extracted from their political beneficiaries.

Meanwhile the Democratic members of the Wisconsin state senate are in hiding in Illinois. Profiles in courage this is not. But like Waterloo this is a battle. Reinforcements are on the way. There is a rally in support of the governor on Saturday. Go to Freedom Connect for details. Andrew Breitbart has also said he will attend. It’s always fun when Andrew goes to a left wing protests and asks the protestors what they are doing and getting blank stares as their frantically look around for some organizer to tell them what to say.

That’s my opinion; I’d like to know yours. Please comment below.

So reads the opening paragraph of Saul Alinsky’s book, “Rules for Radicals.” Barack Obama is a follower of Saul Alinsky taking his first job out of Columbia as a community organizer in Chicago and tutored by a man named Mike Kruglik. Kruglig described Obama this way:

“He was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation, who could engage a room full of recruiting targets in a rapid-fire Socratic dialogue, nudging them to admit that they were not living up to their own standards. As with the panhandler, he could be aggressive and confrontational. With probing, sometimes personal questions, he would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better.” — “Obama’s Alinsky Jujitsu,” American Thinker, January 8, 2008

Democrats Facing Threats After Passage of Health Care Reform

While wading through a crowd of protesters carrying a massive gavel, Nancy Pelosi was joined by several prominent black Democrats. A racial epithet was called out from the crowd evoking a reaction from Pelosi’s companions. The cameras caught the reaction, but not the provocateur. Neither the police or any news organization caught the individual, but the “main stream media” immediately started linking Tea Party protesters with racism.

In the following days, CNN and others reported threats to Democrats who voted for the health care bill, including a graphic voicemail to Bart Stupak; an anonymous fax picturing a noose was sent to a black Democratic Congressman James Clyburn; Democratic Congresswoman Louise Slaughter reports a brick being thrown through the window of her district office in Niagara Falls, NY. Very troubling indeed.

Having walked down Pennsylvania Avenue with thousands of Tea Party protesters last year, I can say they were the most orderly, principled, polite, helpful gathering of people you could imagine. Naturally the “main stream media” reported nothing of this demonstration other than a sign or two that linked this administration to the Nazis. So was I surprised to see this vitriol suddenly sprout up? While I could understand the frustration with this arrogant Congress and President ignore the overwhelming will of the people, I still couldn’t grasp them going that far.

When I heard about the broken window in Congresswoman Slaughter’s district office, I thought of other protests with broken glass. Protesters smashing windows in Seattle at a meeting of the World Trade Organization in 1999. The G20 summit in Scotland in 2009 had protesters smashing windows. These violent protesters represent the left, not the right. Hmmm…

Last night in Ottawa, the police cancelled a speech by Ann Coulter at the University of Ottawa, because the threat of violence became too great:

After Tuesday night, the hatred incited by Francois’ letter is no longer theoretical. The police called off my speech when the auditorium was surrounded by thousands of rioting liberals—screaming, blocking the entrance, throwing tables, demanding that my books be burned, and finally setting off the fire alarm.

Ms. Coulter received a letter, before her speech, from the provost of the University that she could potentially be criminally liable for hate speech in Canada. Who else spoke at the University without such admonishment? How about Communist Angela Davis? Hmmm…

Rules for Radicals

So what are Saul Alinsky’s instructions to radicals? Here he outlines the purpose:

In this book we are concerned with how to create mass organizations to seize power and give it to the people; to realize the democratic dream of equality, justice, peace…. “Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.’ This means revolution.” p.3

“Radicals must be resilient, adaptable to shifting political circumstances, and sensitive enough to the process of action and reaction to avoid being trapped by their own tactics and forced to travel a road not of their choosing.” p.6

“A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage — the political paradise of communism.” p.10

“An organizer working in and for an open society is in an ideological dilemma to begin with, he does not have a fixed truth — truth to him is relative and changing; everything to him is relative and changing…. To the extent that he is free from the shackles of dogma, he can respond to the realities of the widely different situations….”

Everything is relative and changing. Doesn’t that sound like the left’s view of a “living and breathing” Constitution? The Constitution is not what the Founding Fathers intended when the wrote it, but what the words mean in today’s context. In other words, there really is no Constitution, because the Constitution means whatever you say it means today.

“The tenth rule… is you do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments.… It involves sifting the multiple factors which combine in creating the circumstances at any given time… Who, and how many will support the action?… If weapons are needed, then are appropriated weapons available? Availability of means determines whether you will be underground or above ground; whether you will move quickly or slowly…” p.36

Clothe it with moral garments. Did the Democrats argue the merits of health care or did they continually fall back to stories of, for example, “a woman who had to wear her dead sister’s dentures,” said Louise Slaughter. Or, they said that when people were asked about the details of ObamaCare, the public overwhelmingly supported it, so they are not opposed to the whole package. Really? I’m sure that if you picked through the programs of Hitler, Stalin, Castro, and Mao you could get similar reactions: lower unemployment, self-respect, prosperity, etc., but the full package doesn’t work, it’s a lie.

Rules for Radicals: Tactics

9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”

Can you say racism? How many times has this trump card been played? The epithet hurled from the crowd immediately sparked cries of racism and the “main stream media” tied them to the Tea Party protesters.

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’…

The Democrats squeaked through an ugly health care bill. The next hurdle is to get this far behind them and try to salvage the 2010 election before they are thrown from office. Recent polls show a significant uptick in Obama’s approval, but it is all coming from Democrats. Republicans haven’t budget and Independents are even worse. Hmmm… what do Democrats do now? Read Rule 13.

Pick the target: The Tea Party protesters are the most energized potent force in politics today. They must be stopped. Freeze it: Have some left wing radicals, maybe some SEIU members mingle among the Tea Party protesters and shout the racial epithets and melt away. Pelosi’s parade route was known among the Democrats. They staged it to look like a Civil Rights march from the 1960s. They knew the media would be there and they could see, once on site, where to stand to be heard by Pelosi & co., but not be caught on camera. The lap dog media would immediately launch into grave concerns of the Tea Party turning ugly, “as we knew they would.” Freeze them.

Personalize it. What is more personal than racism? How do you defend against a charge of racism? Polarize it: Paint the Tea Party as a bunch of hateful, racist, violent rednecks with guns and fair minded people will not want to associate with them. They will drift away from the Tea Party and in the absence of another group to organize them, they hope these folks will become dejected and not turn out in November, and Nancy Pelosi can dodge a bullet and tighten her grip on the Speaker’s gavel.

Battle Back

The executive branch is responsible for enforcing the laws. Press them to find out who did these things. Put forth the theory that it is the left trying to discredit the Tea Party people. After all, which is the more plausible explanation, radicals being radicals or law abiding citizens becoming crazed and dangerous? Make them disprove the case.

This appears more dangerous and grave every day. It’s eight months to November. Stay vigilant and don’t let up.

There was a time when people came to our shores to find a better life. To escape persecution and poverty and to build a better life for their children was their goal. They found Lady Liberty lifting her lamp beside the golden door.

What happened next was that people assimilated. Their children went to school with other children and learned to read and speak English. Their names may have sounded different but before long their voices didn’t. Sure, New Englanders sounded different than those from Mississippi, but they sounded very much like their neighbors. They became Americans.

I just finished reading Newt Gingrich and William Forstchen’s historical novel, To Try Men’s Souls, which is the story of the George Washington crossing the Delaware on Christmas night, 1776, and attacking Trenton. Trenton was guarded by Hessian mercenaries, who were some of the most elite soldiers in Europe. It was a mismatch beyond belief, but in a last ditch effort, their password that night was “Victory or Death,” and with the element of surprise, they prevailed. In one passage it mentioned American soldiers of Dutch and German extraction shouting to the Hessians to surrender, in German. They were probably closer to the Hessians in culture and blood than to their fellow Americans from Boston, but they considered themselves Americans and were willing to die for their country.

The Balkanization of America

Today, we are mired in multiculturalism. I remember the story of an Hispanic man loudly protesting to his local school board regarding bilingual education to which he was opposed. “You’re teaching my son to be a janitor!” he said, “I want him to learn in English, so that he can get a job with a future!”

We should not lose track of our roots. It is right to celebrate where we came from. One of the great things about New York is the different neighborhoods and parades that teach and celebrate about where we came from, which is good. But if carried to the point where we no longer assimilate; where we remain pockets of groups with their own identity and politics, we are in grave danger of ceasing to be America.

During World War II, what if people of German heritage refused to fight against Hitler or for that matter felt a greater allegiance to him than to America? Some did. They were tried for treason. What if they were protected instead? What if their differences were looked at with admiration rather than suspicion?

Fort Hood

Commentators in the news are twisting themselves in knots trying to disassociate Major Nidal Hasan’s slaughter of 13 Americans from his jihadist proclivities, despite evidence of outright hostility toward America and contact with a radical imam. It is politically incorrect, to speak of his religion. The Army Chief of Staff raises concern about negatively impacting the military’s record of diversity, if we focus on anything but a lone gunman who snapped.

But what if there is a larger plot? What if there is an effort on the behalf of some Muslims to purposely not assimilate, to infiltrate the military and become a fifth column within? Multiculturalism makes it far easier for this to occur because if everyone looks different, no one stands out. On the other hand, if everyone assimilates, those who speak, act, or plot against America become more obvious. Again, imagine multiculturalism in the United States in 1943. You might have whole communities that were German to the core, did not like non-Germans among them and quickly spread the alarm when a stranger approached. How much easier would it have been for Hitler to build a network of saboteurs?

Kill Multiculturalism Before it Kills Us

We must reinvigorate the idea of assimilation. Speak any language you want at home; dress any way you want; practice your faith as you please, but where government is involved, we should be treated equally. We should speak one common language for all official business. If not, where do we draw the line?

In Minnesota in 2007 a public university coffee cart was banned from playing Christmas Carols, but public money was being used to install foot baths to accommodate Muslims before prayer. After the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and now another terrorist attack at Fort Hood, we have to be able to tell the good Muslims from those out to kill us. We must have true peace loving Muslims, become true Americans. We have to engender that we are Americans first, like those early Americans of Dutch and German decent, and not have divided loyalties particularly where the “other loyalty” insists on killing us infidels.

The Obama international charm offensive seems to be wearing thin. As the first U.S. President to ever lobby to win an Olympic Games, President Obama failed in his effort as Chicago was eliminated in the first round. The Olympic ideal was to divorce sports and politics and by doing so, promote peace by having athletes from around the world meet on a one-to-one basis and see each other as individuals rather than as the countries they represented.

Although Hitler used the 1936 Olympic Games to showcase the revitalized Germany, it was Jimmy Carter who was the first to directly use the Games for political purposes when he pulled the U.S. team from competing in Moscow in 1980, to protest the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan. There’s nothing like punishing your own young athletes who perhaps worked a lifetime for the opportunity to compete in an Olympic Games and perhaps never get another chance. The Soviet’s returned the favor four years later by boycotting the Games in Los Angeles in 1984.

Let’s go back to the ideal of Baron Pierre de Coubertin, who help found the modern Olympic Games:

May joy and good fellowship reign, and in this manner, may the Olympic Torch pursue its way through ages, increasing friendly understanding among nations, for the good of a humanity always more enthusiastic, more courageous and more pure.

So let’s leave the Olympic Games to the athletes and perhaps now, President Obama can get back to work.

So if you bash Bush, you are a patriot. If you question Barack Obama, you are a Nazi. So our statist friends only believe the First Amendment applies to them and it is not available to those who oppose them. Turn them in to the White House! Have union goons give them a beat down.
